On May 14-16, 2007 the City of Atlanta, CIFAL Atlanta, UNITAR, and the Georgia Water Resources Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology co-hosted the 2nd Annual Mega-City Water Forum “Planning for Sustainable Growth”.  This year’s forum focused on environmental impact, sustainable infrastructure, capacity-building, and funding.

This forum was supported by the American Water Works Association Research Foundation, the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, the International Water Association, National Association of Clean Water Agencies, and the Water Environment Federation

The workshop was sponsored by Delta Airlines, GE Water Process & Technologies, METCALF & EDDY | AECOM, MWH, and The Coca-Cola Company, who contributed their time, expertise, and financial resources to this forum.

Speakers from the Development Bank of South Africa, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, the Organization of American States, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, shared their international and technical expertise on formal panels and in informal discussions over the three day program.

Over sixty delegates participated in this global dialogue on pressing water sustainability issues. Our diverse delegate list included senior-level water experts from the following cities and counties:
