Program Background
Aviation and airport security preparedness is a critical concern
for any country and is especially important during major events that
draw worldwide media attention. As Beijing and China will be hosting
several global events for the first time, the need to ensure the safety
and security at critical infrastructure points, such as airports,
is a vitally important responsibility that falls on the shoulders
of all nations.
In an effort to maintain international peace and security in accordance
with the principles and goals of the United Nations, CIFAL Atlanta,
the North American training center of the United Nations Institute
for Training and Research (UNITAR), is organizing "Aviation and
Airport Security Preparedness Workshop" from October 28 to November
2 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Program Format
This workshop is designed to create a platform for aviation and airport
officials from China and the U.S. to share knowledge and best practices
in the areas of aviation and airport security preparedness. It will
address several critical topics including the following:
