Daniel Aghion is the co-Founder of the Wireless Internet Institute and serves as its Executive Director since its inception in 2002. In this capacity, he was responsible for the launch of, and currently leads, the United Nations ICT Task Force initiative "The Wireless Internet Opportunity for Developing Nations." One of its key initiatives is to meet the Millennium Development Goals related to ICTs for development and bridging the Digital Divide. Mr. Aghion also serves as an accredited member of the United Nations ICT Task Force.

Mr. Aghion has a broad background in international technology sales, business development, marketing and general-management, having successively served as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, with GlobeID, a large-scale Internet Payment Systems provider; Vice President, International IDE/Aranex, a network systems provider; Vice President, Marketing, SoftNet, an enterprise software applications vendor. Mr. Aghion worked eight years with Digital Communications Associates (DCA), a network-to-mainframe connectivity vendor, successively serving in various channel-management positions and as Director of Marketing. Before joining DCA, he was the founder and Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, of Micro Connection International, a European networking product distributor. Mr. Aghion began his career as a publisher in the business-publishing field. Mr. Aghion received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Ecole Normale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, France.
