Approach
The central purpose of CIFAL Atlanta’s training is to develop and strengthen human capacity to better respond to local and global challenges. Our programs provide an international platform for knowledge exchange, supporting sharing and dissemination of best practice, innovation and lessons learned across cities, countries and regions. They foster partnership building among public sector, private sector and civil society at local, national and international levels.
CIFAL Atlanta relies on a facilitative approach that aims to:
- Promote the transfer of experiences, skills and technologies among government officials, private sector representatives and civil society leaders
- Enhance capabilities to effectively perform relevant tasks
- Encourage cooperation and the development of partnerships
- Facilitate networking opportunities leading to city-to-city collaboration
- Contribute to local and national strategy development and implementation
CIFAL Atlanta achieves its objectives by conducting face-to-face training activities, such as skills development seminars, knowledge-sharing workshops and field visits. Training focuses on three main thematic areas: Economic development, social development and environmental sustainability
With our Knowledge Management Methodology (KMM), CIFAL creates networking opportunities leading to collaboration, and facilitates peer-to-peer information exchange and learning. Our KMM tools include self-assessment exercises to assist countries, cities and organizations to evaluate their capacity to respond in particular areas. These assessments serve as a basis to determine strengths and areas for improvement.
